Teachable Moments Preschool, a leading diversified education and hospitality company, benefits young children by investing in families and community through Education, Enrichment, and Engagement. Our core values are character, integrity, service, and excellence. We offer full-time slots for infants, toddlers, 2-year-olds, and preschoolers.

Learning from cradle to kindergarten

 

  • The Creative Curriculum includes 36 objectives, organized into nine areas of development and learning:

    • Social-Emotional

    • Physical - Gross motor and fine motor development

    • Language

    • Cognitive - Problem-solving skills

    • Literacy

    • Mathematics

    • Science and Technology

    • Social Studies

    • The Arts

  • Classrooms are set up with interest areas, including blocks, house, art, table toys, library, sand & water, cooking, music & movement, and computers. Outdoor play is also provided for children daily.

    Teachers facilitate learning as they carefully observe children’s play to determine the most appropriate levels and types of support to offer. Play materials and props match the cultural and developmental characteristics of the children. Children with disabilities are always included.

  • With a holistic view of children and families, we provide:

    • Currently developing VA 529 College Plan enrollment

    • Currently developing field trips & excursions

    • Interactive, user-friendly website with virtual tours

    • Online registration, enrollment, and payment processing

    • Touch-free check-in/check-out, daily schedule, daily menu, progress reports, and real-time photos and videos located on the parent app

    • Daily communication

    • Nutritious and delicious meals that include breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack

    • Currently developing monthly wellness checks provided by a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

    • ADA compliant & wheelchair accessible

    • On-site child clinic for potential injuries and/or illnesses

    • Progressive culture

A note from our Director

Many still consider early childhood education to be inessential or simply classify it as a “babysitting” service. I believe whole-heartedly that investing in early childhood education could provide solutions to a lot of social and economical problems in our city. I simply want kids to experience more than matching cubbies and the smell of a bleach-water solution, which is typically what most families receive from child care centers that look and feel the same: sterile, cold and uninviting. Until Now.

Here at Teachable Moments Preschool, we are passionate about quality learning, not quantity. We obsess about the small details in teaching, not test scores. We dream about real connection, and we’re inspired by BIG imaginations. We see the need to go where other preschools may have been hesitant or unwilling to explore.

We are extremely thrilled to deliver early childhood education in a trustworthy environment with an encouraging voice.
